3D studio max house model video

Here is my model of a 3d house enviroment, what i did here was going towards the major projects of designing buildings around the area of salt aire for the client Steven Bottoms.

What i did to start off with was draw out a plane and in bedded an image of a floor plan of a house then what i did was drew out more planes for the bits that would be the walls. Once drew out all the walls for the house i started on inteir decarating, i drew out couches, beds, a carpet, a TV, a hot tub and a stripper pole and also an outside enviroment. After i drew in everything I in bedded image into all the drawn object to make it lokk more realistic. Once i finished my house i did a bit of filming having a look around the house showing off what i did.

I didn't find this much of a challenge, I pritty much had the idea of what i wanted and what i was aiming for and i pritty much knew what i needed to do to a complish this.

I feel that if i needed to improve my work that maybe i could go into more detail.

comparing this to prof's example I would say its 50/50.

another team meeting...

In our team meeting today we decuss as a group what order and how we would present our key locations. For our start point we decided that it was going to be hirst lock, for the camera we fought we could use an eagle so it would fly around the area, from hirst lock the camera would go all the way down towards shipley wharf, do this would get the canal bit out of the way so we can consentrate on all the buildings, from shipley wharf we move over to the warehouse were we do some sort of video profile over this building, then we we move to the church were will do another video profile and the same thing with the music shop, salts/new mill and then we shall finish of with the sir titus salt feast.

Primary photography research

05/12/2012-on this day i want out around the area of shipley college to do some primary research for my group, what i did was went out and took some photos of some buildings that we would be working on for our client Steven Bottoms. Being able to do this real helps with the project because as well as getting better detailed photos and different points of prospective we are able to get a better look at the building, to see how its structured, a better understanding which really helps with constructing these buildings on 3D studio max.
Getting a better look at these buildings i was lucky enough to be able to go into some of these buildings which also helps with when we need to design the inside of these buildings.

1st Arcade review (beta)

Arcade games are as not as up to date, well detail in graphics and story but are still fun and are still here, in the 1900's was when arcade games were first created and from there they were have grown and expanded into such wonderous simulations games.
Arcade games today: arcade games today are mostly just simulations from car racing to first person shooter, arcade games are the only type of videogame media that can actually put you really close to the action, to something that seems really, arcade game make things seem more real then any over types of platforms, example; time crisis is a first person shooter game, this arcade game give you two pistols for two players and two metal pedals to take cover and puts you in a shoot out.
What draws them in: Above the arcade game is the title of the game presented very clear and noticeable for the public to see and to be attracted to, on the screen of the arcade shows you a demo of the game its self, it shows you what you could and acomplish, it shows you how to play with clear and simple instuctions and simple actions to follow. As well as all that there's loud pounding music to pull you in, to keep you intrested while you wait, to get you into the mood.
Profit: Some arcade games (in my opinion) are just tools to gain money quick and easy. people consistantly waste their money in order to get some sense of accomplishment out of it, when people play these particular arcade games they can't stand losing so they keep on wasting their money in order to win something to try and get something out of it and eventually when they win something they get this sense of accomplishment out of and they feel the need to play again and again in order to get something even more out of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFwMLD3qygs :example of an old arcade game but not forgotten

limits: unfortunaly arcade games aren't as handheld and light as a game boy or PSP for the free roaming capability they provide, they are far to big and blucky, thankfully some of these arcade game can be bought and placed in your homes, there are even high tech racing simulations that can be bought. some of these arcade game can even be bought for the console such as; the time crisis series, metal slug and so on.

finale team logo design review

Here's our finale team logo idea for our team, when we were doing our team logo it was dragging on longer then of any of the overs team logo, this was mainly because we had many good ideas to go on but we could only choose one and that we tried to make everyone happy about our decision and the fact that we couldn't exactly feel like we could make a fair decision on what we wanted our logo to look like that would represent us because everyone wasn't here at the time.
In the end we had to make the cold hard decision and what made it harder is that all of our team wasn't there but we had to make a decision fair or not, so in the end we decided on the logo I, Steven, designed.
I wanted to design something different and unique and something that look professional but that was kinda hard considering the fact that we named ourselves robot llama which sounds like something out of a heavy metal rock but then waqar came to me with the idea of a blue print design. With the blue print design it showed some sort of professionalism because blue prints are what people use in professional projects and i feel with this that some people may take us seriously. we used a blue print background and in keeping with the theme of blue prints the design could just all be in white lines because thats whats associated with blue prints which made it slightly easier on me.
when i was designing our name on our logo i had to scrap the idea for circut board style because i wanted the writting to look 3D and to stick out and putting in the circut board style would of made it look awful and of just ruined it entirely, accidently i made on the writting as blury as 3D but without the glassess and accidently it hurts people eyes :), but still all of the writting looks has as hard, still and straight as iron or some form of metal which was one of my aims for the writting.
When i was drawing out the main part of the logo (picture) i wanted to design it to look like how we said it, i wanted it to look like a llama but with some kind of robot features as well as taking everyones ideas into consideration and trying to combine all into one, for the head part we were wanting to give it something like robo cop to make it kinda look a bit of a bad ass but in the end we ended up going with a part llama part robot eye like the character cyborg out of the DC universe and trying to keep in contrast of part llama part robot. with the rest of the body we tried to see how it would of look with iron man suit around but it didn't to look right, to be onisisted it kinda look bad but we kept the most iconic thing to iron man was the mini ark reacter on the chest which we put in on ours, around it we put in some circuit board lines to make it more robotic or even cyborg and for the feet we just put in metal feet, something plane and simple. Once i drawed it all up and then put into photoshop i put in an inner glow which gave it a nice look and it made it stand out nicely.
comparing this to a professional example i would say its right up there, we fought it throught, we did sevral designs and we decided as a group that this is what we wanted our logo to look like and it looks as professional as any over professional logo.
if i was to done anything any differently i would of tried and made it work with the iron man armor some how.
i learned that lot more goes into a team logo then i fought.

Last thursday 3D studio max lesson, landscape

15th of november was a day that i wasn't here to go over the lesson. what i heard that they did that lesson was that the class made random landscape in 3D studio max by putting out a plane and streching parts of it out to create hills, moutains and landscapes, as well as making landscapes they put in a background to sort of set out were it is.

sound recording lesson

Today we been messing around with some sound recording equipment. the main piece of equipment that we used was something called a tascam, this is were we recorded our sound on to and on this machine is were we manipulated the level of sound. To record the sound we used a microphone conected to the tascam. Using the tascam we learned

Team meeting

For this team meeting we still went on about our logo but we decided that we will pull all our work up and decided as a group our final logo.

As well as deciding our logo we went on to unit 4/5-developing responses, on this we went over the sort of job roles we were going to do over our course, first we had to layout the place that we were going to go over on our route then we divided them up between the four of us. these points of intrest would be the key areas for our group that we had to focus on individualy. focusing on these areas would mean key research that we had to compose and the possblity that we had to design these areas in 3D studio max or the alternative to that we would design them in Flash.

After descussing our job roles we talked and took notes on how we could advertise our HCI/website to the out side world, our main and most promising ideas were the shipley college website, poster/leaflet, annoying pop up ads and google site, wix.

3D Studio max team project idea trailer...

working on this project we have to do a trailer or a clip circling around an area of our choosing on one of the three routes for our client, Steven Bottoms but after we do this we can do our own idea for a videogame trailer but sticking to the surrounding area or involing an area we choose but we can do anything we want to that area of our likeing.

My idea was to have the opening scene on the canal looking real peaceful, carm and boring, as if nothing was going to happen, then out of the blue have a jet skie jump over the canal lock or smash through it, going through the air and crashing then exploding on contact on a canal boat for something total awsome but random.
After the pump action begining have the surrounding scene look as if its aging in time our maybe going back in time as if it was about to show you something that happened here at a certain time or age. when thats done have a starnge shadow or object go past the camera but not revealing what it is just yet then have the camera span out to a wider view of whats going on, to reveal a ship, a pirate ship or some sort of ship that looks like its ready for battle. (what i wanted the ship to kind of look like was 17 centery but maybe add something that makes it a bit futuristic.) Then i want the camera to span out some more to reveal an even wider shot of whats going on and to see the ship to go towards an inpending water fall and then to have the camera to cut to a shot at being at the edge of the water fall having the ship come towards the camera then the camera cuts to behind the ship following it towards the water fall and to have the ship fall of the water fall, then a couple of seconds pass to then reveal the ship has transformed in a flying vesel. (something like off the most recent three musk a tears or what ever.)
Once the ship has transformed and has a 360 degree look around it flys off to another area were it has battle with another or a couple of over flying ships after some close ups of the ships gettin ready for battle they start to firer on one another, (this part of the animation will contain exsplosion on each of the ships, with some exsplosion in mid air or some sastaining heavy damage that they fall apart and let gravity take its part with the camera following some of the debre.
In the mist of battle something opens up in the clouds to reveal the united reformed church. (near shipley college)(an alternative we use one of the mills so we don't axedently p*** of some christian like the game resistance)
All of a sudden a lihghtening beam shoots up into the sky and opens up a portal. (end scene),(the ships either goes into the portal or something comes out of it.)

Wednesday 7 November 2012

The picture above is a mind map of text formats for our team title, colour schemes for which suits best for either logo or title and some random sketches/ ideas for our team logo.
all this work is towards for our team and we been expermenting with different images, sketches, shapes, colours to find which is the perfect way to present our team logo.
For the title format we went of to research different types on the internet to see what sort of variation would suit our title better, since our team title was called: Robot llama and this was for a game company i fought it would be best to look for something robotish, something that would suit a robot title, something that had straight concreek line as well as looking a bunch of lego blocks piled together and since its for a videogames company we add somesort of retro texting to it.
For the logo its self it was a matter of position it in the right place, so it was a matter if i wanted portrait, landscape, facing forwards or a side ways portrait profile picture, with this underway it was matter of how i wanted our logo to look, since the name was Robot llama i wanted to make a llama look like a robot or at least to give it some sort of robot features, i made look like robot cop, i even have one that looks like iron man or in this case iron LLAMA!!! with some ideas rumbling i had to applie some colours see which one would suit it best.
With all different bits under raps it was know a matter of which one need to be applied to which one. I had a bit of a mix and match with the logos and titles to find the supreme, it was a matter of posisition the right title either above, underneath, at one of the sides or just merging it with logo itself and then there was the logo itself to pick.
Here are some of the finale ideas products that i came up with (and later at somepoint i'll have to present this to my group). At the top left is an inspired naughty dog team logo basically its like there's only i adapted it to make it look like ours. the blue underneath that is basically a business point of prospective of looking at it, it was designed to make us look more serious and saficicated and for overs to take us seriously. To the right of it is my iron man style of it, using this idea of it i fought it would look proud and mojestic like looking up to a super hero type ideal as well as a creative feature on the writting. the big one to the right of that was one of my original design that i did for the team logo, basically its a half robot half llam with a sort of robo cop helmet and the title of our group name spray painted on, in purple.

In truth i kinda stuck with the name robot llama because of the stupidity and pure funny sillieness to it i did find some sort of serious meaning to it, even though people might no take it seriously i'll take it as greatness.

Flash work

this is a blog review of the recent weeks on working on my flash animation that i've been working on for a client called Steven Bottoms, he's wanting us to design an intractive map over the surronding seclected area.

http://www.freshnewgames.com/whackyourboss.html

The link above is a proffenial example of a flash game site that pritty decesent.

What i did was i did a tracing of the map of the surrounding area and through that i transfered it on to photoshop were i went on with designing my own inturpitation of my map, through photoshop i designed my map how i wanted it to look which was to make it look like a treasure map that way i thought it would make it look more intresting. As well as design my map on my photoshop i had to design my buttons that were asociated with the point of intrest in the surrounding area. each of this buttons will bring up a sheet of infomation that explains about the area. Once i finished my design on photoshop i transfered my images from photoshop to Flash were i started my design on my web-design. I used my map as the background as a base for the layout. On flash i designed what my buttons would do, so when you intract with it my buttons would do something like change size, colour, shape and when you click on it (some) would deliver you to another screen with infomation and hopefully a video. my flash work is in a sort of finished/still working on fases.

When i was working on this flash project i kinda didn't have any original intention on what i wanted, the project kinda develop it self as i went along, so i wouldn't know what to say about my intention on this one.

When i was working on this project i kinda managed my time by just limping it, i don't think i managed my time as effectively as i should of, i may have been slacking in some areas, i think i may of have been juggling too many things at one time.

i struggled with most of the technical side of things, i struggle with the motion tween when i was tryin to make some of my images move and when i was tying to do the coding for my buttons so my buttons would lead the viewer to A to B. i am capable of doing these things its just i would feel more rearshored if i had someone there to ask.

what i found the easiest was the designing part of it, the planning, the designing, drawing, creating the buttons, designing the map, that type of thing.

people like it for how it stuck out, they like the fact that i used the treasure map as the background and they like how my icons look like cartoon pop ups.

I could improve upon my time keeping skills my abilitie to do most of the stuff im struggling with.

I suppose i was to do things differently i would take more of a proffecianal angle look at it.

what i learned from doing this project was how to do programing for my buttons.

Our teams

22/10/2012, we were told what teams we were in today, for me it was:
  • Steven
  • Waqar
  • cieron
  • Saddiuqe

In our teams we were told what routes we would be doing, our team would be doing the blue route which consists a major chunck of the the leeds to liverpool canal and the surronding area.

In our team we had to decuss who would be the leader of our little rebel allience, I elected waqar and everyone else fell in. I choose him because i felt he was the wised out of our group and probaly the most inteligent skills that i felt that were need to lead.
For cieron i feel that he would be good in the animation department as he posses the skills and knowledge to work around flash.
saddiug

After we elected our leader we decided what our team name would be, we did a mind map of ideas on what names would be good, we circled around the idea of greek words, i like the idea of an unuseal name that had a hidden meaning, in the end we came up with 'robot lama'. Even though we have decided our team name i don't want to let go of deciding the group name because i feel like there maybe a better name out there. when we were fingering around with the idea for the group name i thought about other companie names and i noticed that some of them consists of two favourite/major words like for example naughtydog has the word naughty and dog and i kinda thought that maybe it would be easier think of two favourite word.

sociology of sound

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYuaJcWMG70

This song here makes me feel happy, uplifted, excited and FUNKY!!!.
I like the fast techno trum beat in the background and the fast paste music that keeps coming and coming like a good weave and the parts were it builds the tension and unleash the awsomeness energectic music like a massive explosion.
this song actually isn't on itunes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQMMHiQcLWA

I like this for many and complicated reasons but like it because of how it starts, it builds the tension then release the carm soving singing voice but still holding that tension making sound cool and how it sounds old but also hip so the young generation might like and keeps going on  and on with a cool beat. I feel like the sound is meaning full like there's a purpose, like he's shouting out for a good cause, its rare jem this song is. The giutar in the background that keeps going un-interupted i just love how it keeps going.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRQnJyP77tY

This song i like because its so energetic, fast paste, powerfully loud and builds up the tension quiet nicely and mainly because it was in iron man and the avengers and even though its rock music its actually cool.

In my opinion music is an expression of the artist feelings or a part of it, but i think the reason why we like certain music is because we can relate to those feelings and i think its that connection that drives a connection to liking certain music.
Were as some music, i think, can control our feelings, which may or may not control or feelings to liking certain music, with some music it can make us so happy, stong, enogetic amd proud were as other music can destory those feelings and make us feel sad, depressed, suicidle and philisothicla. I believe the other part of music can control or emotion, it may be why there's consprises that their are hidden messages in music but i was thinking not that saddistic.
As well as control our feelings and emotion towards, i beleave that music is used to set the mood in scenario a situation that accours, but not music as in singing, i mean of course theme music to tell the type of situation that has a rosen, like for example there would be tunes for; inamate danger, horrorific scenes, silence, being chased, heroic moments, saddness over a well known character death and a triomph day and as well as an iconic theme tune for a triligoy or more of games and films that people reckonise istantly when they here it . I beleave in doing this creates a more realistic atsmosphere for film or game.
Here are some examples of what i'm talking about;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QKvFYQaOkw

This tune right here is from the Halo legends, a different bunch of collection of animation sournding the story of Master Chef.
Now i like because it sounds perfect, through out there's no interupions through out the tune and it sounds loud and powerful, when i listen to it sounds like the type of music were a battle is about to comence and that you get to see a bird eye view of the whole battle and just at the end it sounds like a series of heroism is taking place in 3D HD with surrond sound.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDuJkMOdRZY&feature=fvwrel

Know when i here this tune i instantly know its the pirates of the caribbean tune because its well know and its been through out all four pirates of the caribbean, this was played when something awsome and adventuress was happening and thats what i think when i here the tune, that we are on one hell of an awsome journey and adventure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8Jb9eJ6tts

This is the The Dark Knight Rises theme tune, i think this suits batman personality to how much he's muchord of the years from the comics books, to the horrid tv show to the cartoon series to the early movies and now the dark knight rises triliogy. I like the way it starts off because it kinda sounds like the type of tune that would be played when someone sneaking around, thats very much batman. I like it at the start when it builds up the tension then release the orcistarted dramatic music that is Batman.

With games you will be needing soundtracks for games that suit moments such as, fight scenes, pursuits or inamate danger.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_0n8cnom0A

This is a piece of soundtrack from the the assassins creed brotherhood soundtrack, i like it for its fast pace and how it keeps getting louder near the end, when i here this it makes feel that its the type of music used when someone is being pursued/in a real good chase scene.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ-mmSh9yMw

This is a piece of soundtrack from Halo 4 soundtrack, I like how it starts of very calmly and very slowly builds up the tension with such beautiful orchstrated music and then out of no where it release the loud bounding beats, when i hear it sounds like your walking up to near coming battle scenario and when the loud beats comes on it makes me feel that the protaganis has just gone head first in to  glorious battle where he rises up victouris at the end.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShQgY3mRSis&feature=relmfu

This is a piece of soundtrack from Uncharted 3 Drake Deception, I like it for it sounds so beautiful orchstarted like something you would get from a opreha house and for its hidden beat in the background, when i hear it sounds some sort of pursuit with some high intense action

What I need to finish

I have basically just about done everything for this project that i need to do, i have my icons for the points of intrest, i have my map that i'm going to use. All that is needed to do is to basically turn my icons into buttons on my maps and make it so they do something like change a bit when hovered over and maybe a bit of animation to happen when clicked upon as well as section of infomation come on screen explaining the some infomation about the area. i was thinking about a video as well as text when clicking about the area, my original idea about using a video was to film the actor/actress talking about the area but floors were shot through this plan because the camera equipment wasn't good at recording sound and there were people hovering around the dam area, but i came up with an alternative which would be to do a 360o turning of the point of intrest and maybe have an actor/actress talk about the area.

The route

(Steven, Ali) we started in Robert’s park (Steven, Ali) near graffiti park from that starting point were led under the bridge that connects saltaire to Roberts park where we were told a story  that in distance going down river we told that there used to be a bridge there and in world war II they used to drive tanks over this bridge to test them and in the 1960’s the bridge was taken down for some reason, from there we walked into the middle of Robert’s park sticking to river aire were we stop by this small beach area  opposite the boat house where we were told about how people used to sun bathe, swim and play and stuff but as the years went it wasn’t advisable to be there because of some floaters they told us in the early 21st century from that little beach to the half moon cafe it was once flooded.  From the beach we walked to and past the cricket pavilion to an open bit of land that was owned and bought by Sir Titus Salt in the 1800’s (allotments), when we arrived at this point they said that all this land was actually all water and they built this land on top of it with a particular soil so they were able to build the allotments and other various bits and pieces,  under this land there is a pipeline excrement’s,  they also explained that this land was more rural, it was all opened land, there were boulders and animals were roaming the land. From there we moved to the tree were our tour guide explained that there was a man that lived near this tree who was in WWII, they told us how this man was once captured and tried to escape the prison camp but because he got caught he was nailed to the floor and left to roast in the sun, eventually this man got to get home where he found some sweet puppy love.  From this point they walked us to a Hirst foot bridge that crossed the river were they explained that this river carried many multi coloured excrement’s and that the water was uninhabittle for swimming and bathing for a while anyway.  From Hirst foot bridge  we walked to Hirst boat house were they told us that the boat house didn’t originate there but across the river, they dismantled it and re-build across the river.

Map design

GREEN - Weir to Weir - [ Filming with CD/MB - FRIDAY @ 3pm & Sun@ 3pm]

  1.  Roberts Park
  2. cricket pavilion
  3. the mansion

BLUE - Lock to Wharf - [Filming with CD/MB - Friday @ 4.30pm & Sun@ 12pm]
Agreed Points of Interest on this Route [6]:  Shipley Wharf / Canal boats, Saltaire train station, UR Church, Salts Mill / Early Music Shop
  1. Canal boats
  2. Saltaire train station
  3. UR Church
RED - Mill to Mill - [Filming with CD/MB - Friday @ 5.30pm & Sun@1pm]
Agreed Points of Interest on this Route [10]: Salts Mill, Shipley Wharf / Noble Comb, Shipley Wharf / Swing Bridge, Saltaire & Shipley train stations, Dixon Mill, Lower Holme Mill, Victoria Mill
  1. Salts Mill
  2. Victoria Mill
  3. Swing Bridge
For unit 75 we need to do a simple to read map of leeds to liverpool canal map with button pressing infomation popping animtion.

for today we in-printed symbols into our map symboliezing key areas of our map so for example trees for trees, building for building and a H for hospital. the way we did this was we copied and pasted an image from the internet that symbolies our areas onto a new page on photoshop, I then went on to edit then pressed define brush pattern then went onto my map page, click onto the brush tool then brush preset picker and look for the newly designed brush and then click on the different parts of my map to put my symbols.

What i want for my map is a simple but very attractive map, colourful, and to have icons of certain building and landmarks placed all over my map but i want these icons to look cartoonish or to have some sort of cartoon characteristic to it and when you hovered over it with your mouse it would change slightly to let you know you can click and when you click onto it, it zooms in closer  to a box of infomation or it takes you to a different page or the whole infomation pops out underneath on a sticky note. People would follow the map up the canal bouncing from landmark to building to building to landmark.

this is what i want to go for or its a ruth idea that im swinging with for know but i though since it a map i would go with a pirates map to make look good or to give it some charm. the main routes are the high lighted stuck out ones, the red for the road, blue for the canal and greenish grey the train. for icons i put trees as icons forest and basic greeny area, the trainstation symbol for the train, H for the hospital and certain building blocks for building, so far this is what i've done

Multi-Story-Water concept art work

this is concept work of my work on what type of icons that i might be using on a map, each of them represents and points a particular building or area on the map. when i was working on them i wanted to give a cartoonie type texture to make it look it more attractive to catch people eyes.

The top left one is a salt shaker with a human face this icon is the icon that represents all the major Sir titus salt building, that icon is humours joke to Sir titus salt name because he's the word salt in his name and i used a salt shaker as a joke and i thought that would be good as an icon.
The one underneath that one a train that looks like its about to speed off, this is the icon that gonna to represent all the train station in the area, when i was thinking of  a  train station icon i noticed that all of the weren't all that intresting so i thought putting a super dooper high speed train and i figured that would be cool.
The one underneath that one is the church icon, know at the time i wanted to use the tree of life symbol for the church icon but people may have missed understood it so i went with a 3D cross with a beaming jesus light behind it.
The top middle one is the icon for all the other major and historical building, i couldn't be bothered with doing individual so what i did to solve all problems with one is to have a icon with a bunch of buildings put together and made to look like they were jumping out of the page like some cartoon city.
The one underneath that is a icon for a music shop, when i was working on this i didn't want to put down a music symbol or some sort of musical instrument it was just to annoyingly common for so i went for a boom box jumping around with musical symbols coming out of it, all with each individual funky colours.
The one underneath that one is the icon that represents Roberts park, when working on this one i kinda struggle with this one because i didn't know what kind a icon i could of used to represent a park then i started to think about what people did in park which was playing around, so i made an icon with the stuff that people play with and i thought i would try to make it look like the bases of pirates symbol.
The bottom middle was the icon that represents major forest or a forest with a names and the area. it was hard to come up with something creative that could symbolizes a forest which inevatable lead me a tree, its hard not to use a tree there aren't that many things accosiated with trees.
The top right icon is an icon for a swing bridge for this i decide to immate the swing bridge symbol that you see on the side of the road on a road sign, to be oniste i didn't know what to put for a swing bridge so i decided to go with tho one you on a road sign.
The last icon is just a small drawing of a band for the icon to represent the band stand in roberts park.

What i could of done differently was i should of done my variation of icons for each of the icons that i've done, i should'n't of just relied on just the one drawing i did, it si very un-prof...

what i learnt is that is a kinda painful process to in a matter of speaking, i just find it tier-some.

iron man and halo music videos

halo music video
                                                                    iron man music

Thanks to the home bargins connection on the blogger i wasn't able to upload the videos so i had to make do with the youtube links, any the first link is my halo music video and the second is my iron man music.

the halo music video was an idea that came to me when i first saw the glitch on a videogame called halo reach were on the mission new alxeandrea were you basically fly around the whole mission in a falcon were after a while you have to press this secret button under the hosiptal and then go to the disco were you find the covernent getting their funk on, my original intention was to use my own recording on halo reach and use that as my music video but i couldn't get my videos to my computer for editing so i had to use videos on youtube to make my music video,so i used youtube downloader to download the videos of youtube  to put onto moviemaker were i edit out the bits i didn't need and compiled the rest into a music video and for the music i choose Madagaster-i like to move it.
i wouldn't know how to compare this to a professional example i would say this is the first time that someone has to took a videogame and made it look like a music video but as an idea a good opatuneatie.
i haven't shown the video to anyone yet but i bet anyone that is a Halo Fan would love my injanuitie.
it would be hard for me to improve it but to improve it i would add more scenes changes and maybe some louder funkadelic music and i wouldn't have done it any differently.

the iron man music video was a challenge that i set for myself, i wanted to do a stop motion animation music. the idea was to have iron man walk up on stage and start tapping to the music but without revealing that it was iron man and then when the main bit started iron man would exploded (meto-) on to screen where he would start to sing along to the music with different camera angles and then there would be screens were he would do a aire guitar. the music i choose for this was ACDC back in black.
if was to compare this to a professional example  i would say some of the scenes are to common and there need to be more different scenes were iron man is doing different things . this video has been shown and people loved it because i used and iron man action figure singing along to a piece of music that was used in the iron man films.
if i was to improve it i would have iron man doing different things with different angles with maybe a background.

My Halo Movie trailer

Don't bother reading this just watch and enjoy.
This is my halo movie trailer that i made (Note: i had to upload this to youtube then to my blogger cause i wasn't able to upload from my memory stick to my blogger)
My insperation for this trailer was the videogame HALO, I have such a love for the halo universe. I wanted the people that created Halo to create a movie for it and seeing what people have done making fan made trailers, seeing their comment, their need for a halo movie, the desirer, so i thought i would throw in my creative work.
When i was working on this i wanted to make it as profenial as possible to make it believeble as well as making look like other movie trailers and to make it look like profecinal work.
When i was starting work on this i download all the live action trailer that were out so far as well as downloading them as an mp3 file because i might need to use as voice overs in some of the other clips.
For the begining sequence i wanted to put some random clips from the halo universe not indicating or saying that it is a halo movie trailer, I wanted to be very vage on the detail for the begining part of the trailer so that people would be suprised later that it is a halo movie trailer, then using the halo live action memoril trailer as the main foundation and throught out that main part of that trailer i would insert over clips to that trailer at key points in the trailer when saying some key words. then for the ending part of the trailer i did a montages of action sequences combining the  Halo 3 live action landfall trailer and the Halo reach live action trailer with the halo 4 soundtrack in the background.
I found this work to be quite easy but that not suprising that i know my way around and i found it very spirtual. I don't feel that i can improve on perfection.

stop motion animation PG version

When first working on this project we were split into three different groups, i was with Waqar, Ali, Shawwal and Saddique, our team was called Team Alpha, when working on our project we came up of a mind map of what we could do for our stop motion animation. In the end we went with the combination of two ideas, mine and Waqar, waqar idea was to have a fight scene in a disco between iron man and hulk, mine was just a mega fight between an armada of different heros, simple but effective. Once we had our plan we got in preparations for our stop motion away. Ali was team leader, I was deputy and i was also responsible for bringing in action figures as well as sound and editing, Waqar was responsible for the main part of sound and editing, Saddique was responsible for lighting and floor design and Shawwal was responsible for Photographing and background design. The first thing we had to work on before our animation was our scenery, we did think of using the enviroment around us as our scenery and the objects around us as a comical joke but we went with our disco background, when we were working on our background we had the idea to use light with sweet rappers as colour flitters to give it a more disco effect. Once we had our scenery sorted we got to work on the animation itself, the first scene was to be iron man dancing with two lady friends then hulk would walk into the scene and boot iron man on his ass, that scene was suppose to trigger over fight scenes. The second scene was to robotic figures walk into the scene, one of these robots would rip of the other robot arm and repeatly beat with it, this scene would end with hulk smashing down in on the scene. The third scene is spiderman comes flying across the scene hitting the wall then Wall-e would roll in and repeatly ram spiderman (which look kinda wrong) until spiderman punched his head off. When building up our animation we did face problems that we had to compermises with, one of them being that we could use the lights all the time because of the heat it produced, the floor that we stuck our figures on wasn't helping because the floor itself was baggy causing the floor to be pulled by the weight of the figures being pulled when leaning and the camera for some odd and annoying reason it kept zooming in and out which we weren't able to control but it did give a nice affect. When we finished our project we were given copies of our animation to edit on ourself which at sometimes i repeatedly kept going back to slightly edit and improve on. the main bit was already render into an AVI movie, with some scenes we had to speed up to give a normal motion speed as well as repeating some scenes to extend the fight scenes to make it look better (this was part of the plan). The main bit was up and all we had to do was to clean it up a bit and make it look professional. I had an idea for the beginning that was to have an age rating and voice over which i was able to aquire because i would affort about the apporiate age as well as put (techniuqely) a voice over in it and also for a beginning sequence was to have this tranformer come into the scene and tranform into memory stick (which i had, of amazon) and plug itself into my computer and then our animation would show up, we also had a star wars theme title sequence come up with the theme tune of course to say whats what about our animation. Throught the main bit we placed music, apporiate music for the scene, to give it a more disco feeling, which when the scene were and was gonna change i had the music fade in and out. When we were gonna change scenes we did give explanation to what was about to happen. For the end credits i had this idea when i was watching the film Con air were when the credits came up it had the actors face come up with there names and what they did which i thought we could put on our credits as well as some silly little jokes, I also thought of putting a sort of secret ending, not one of those ones that suggest that there is gonna be another animation but just something totaly random.
If i was to compare this stop motion animation to a  professional example i would say that we presented in a professional manor but due to the inconvience of the crap camera we had to deal with i would say we were let down in some areas but i would say that we did film quite well.
When we showed our animation to over people they were impressed with the amount of work that we put into as well as how we tried to make it look professional as far as we could form it into and just because was just amazing.
The only thing that i think that we could improve about our animation was to get a proper camera so it wouldn't zoom in & out all the time as well as adding some more scenes of stop motion animation so it wouldn't of seem that we put are effort into one thing.
the only thing that i would of done diffenetly was get a bigger enviroment as well as some over scenes, to me it just doesn't seem impressive considering that we just used one enviroment with different angles.
For me i didn't learn much because i have an average knowlegde of stop motion animation on how it works, how to use it, how to make it as well as editing it on movie maker a part from greater detail on how it started out, how it was made and so on.

I just growed a jet

I thought of this animation when i was getting stuck into my stop animation course work at shipley college, at that point i was researching stop motion animation work on youtube, looking at others people work and there were some real unbelieveble lego animation, one of them was gears of war lego, another was halo mega blocks which has a storyline and to be continued moments which i thought was pritty nifty. At that point i was thinking about what would it be like if someone did a stop motion animation on lego where they showed the lego model being built and it just looked like it was growing and i thought how hard can it be. At that point i was thinking abot building the lego death star, i knew the difficulty of the operation but i thought i would be a great achivement and it would look good, the problem with this was the the price of it which i was not willing to pay. so i thought around the problem i look around for my lego figures and i did it on my mega blocks lego jet fighter. once i had anything sorted i had to dismantel my jet fighter then using the the instruction manual to re-build it. I started by sticking the first block on to the table so i new thats were by jet fighter was being built the whole process of building my jet was pritty simple until i got up to the wings which required the wings to be built sepratly then put on, what i did was built the wings on the jet fighter which was really hard, it was like try to hit a fly with a bazooka but i was able to in the end... after that bit the rest was a breeze. when that bit was done i did the usual editing bits to my video, title, credits and a wee bit of music.

Why spiderman can't beat iron man

This is what it basically says as a the title, this idea came to me as a comical joke of why punching iron man would be funny considering the fact punching anything of such hard mass would hurt and then i turn that factor into something funny. So i had an iron action figure which was one main part sovled then i had to have another character of same size, where the character Bio could be close to the factor of punching something thats hard that would hurt. I decided to go with Spiderman, The animation would go something like this, Iron man would hover down ( that part was hard, i had to use something that would look like the thrusters of iron man feet, I used silver rapping of a sweet, then i had to hold iron man head and keep a steady balance with each shot but i knew having the camera zoomed in at the right angle i could hold iron man without my hand been seen and also hide iron mans feet without the sudden disappeance of iron man thrusters, after that i zoomed out so all could be seen.) After that part iron man would pritty much stand still through out the rest of the animation, spiderman would walk into the scene and then punch iron man ( on contact of spiderman punching iron man i had the sound of something that sounded like metalic being punched fitted in) After that spiderman would react the same way a normal person would when punching something real hard, then Iron man would punch spiderman knocking him down. After that point i thought it would be funny that i have spiderman rise back up and head butt iron man in the head and ends with spiderman falling back down. Once i did that the finishing scene would be Iron man would walk away into the distance and just a little something comical spiderman hand would come back up. ( the end scene, I was thinking i would end it the same way when they had a mega fight with peter griffen and the chicken in family guy)

Why you shouldn't cheat in a race...

This video is one of the first stop motion animation videos that i did a long time when i was first experimenting, i found the whole experience real tiering and irriating, the fact of the matter is that i had to be real patitence at times while taking a photo then moving it slightly then taking nother photo and continuing that process as well as charging the camera up when it need which extended the time by three hours or less. This whole video took me about one whole day. Once i'd done taking the pictures that i wanted i then connected it to my computer, imported the pictures into monkey jam where i render it into an AVI.movie. from that point i opened up Movie Maker and open up my AVI.movie were i edit it, adding a title and credits as well as sound effects. Orignally this movie was suposely longer then showen but unfortunaly the camera was positioned at the wrong angle cause the whole video to look weird in some scenes so i edit it out to make it more real.

here's a link to my stop motion animstion that i did, it aint't that good but i'm working in progress.
it's supposed to be a joke that punching iron would real hurt, there are sound effects added the sound of the thrusters and the punching of iron.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hASOre63Nk

I find this video on youtube to be beyond any words to describe how good this, its a POV (persistence of vision) video.

Persistence of vision is an illusion of  when two images are put together on either side of a single of a piece of paper, for example a candle, the wax being on one side and the light being on the other, when you  flip these images its create the illusion of a single image that would be persistance of vision
Know the reason why were able to see this is because our brain remebers the first part of the image and then we flip over to the other side we still remeber that over part of the image and we see that side as a single  as a single but you would need to keep a fast speed to keep that illusion up.

Refelection

Reflection-flash animation

The first order of business when i was starting my flash animation i rumble for an idea but i already had one, so i did a mock up, it was cineamtic introduction of a videogame idea giving a very ruff sketch of my idea, once i had everything sorted out i did my proper one on paper, put it into flash and then started working on my animation including front cover and back, but for some reason that went to shits, so i had to do another, so i did part 2 of my comic which is just basically the same concept of animation, after i completed that i started working on my original comic in my spare time which i also completed.

As i work on my flash animation i felt that my idea was revolutionary idea, not fought of by anyone else, while working on it i didn't feel that secore on doing advance animation so felt it was best that i go for a simple style of animation which was simple and effective and with the end product i felt that it was a decent piece of work.

In some parts of my comics i felt that maybe i could improve in some areas, it was because my animation was so simple that it didn't feel that advance in its criteria, maybe add some body motion in the some of the boxes but overall i feel quite proud.

If i had to compare my comic flash animation to a profecinal example i would say i am way out of my leauge, 1 because i am a rook, and 2 because i ain't that good.

Overall i'm not that comfortable with flash, i find it hard and complicated to memoize the routine into doing certain things in flash and sometimes it glitches on me, i find it to be an irretating piece of software.

10 HRS plan

I have 10HRS to finishing everything with flash that i'm doing at this point, what i plan to do is use every bit of time that and can use to finish what i got left on flash, first thing first is finish the comic first then maybe do a front cover for the comic/game idea, after that point i shall even though i found it to be pointless do a the flash skills sheet.

Today i was told waht an animorph was, which is an animal morphed with another animal, also i was told about an humaniod which is an animal with human characteristic like an cenetor.
afternoon we drawed an bunch of different animal body parts shaped into human form but i did more of an animorph, the animals that i went were hawk cause it eye, gorilla cause it strengh, rhino cause it tuffness, dragon cause it awsomeness and wings, spider cause of multiple legs, lizard cause of its use of tail and cheater cause of its speed, i went with these animals because of their personal ablities.
Compared to a profinal example my is more awsomer...

Anamorph & Humaniod

The word anamorph and its derivatives stem from the Greek words meaning formed again, due to reshaping the image onto the film or recording media or paper. The process of anamorphosing optics was developed by Herni Chretin during World war I to provide a wide angle viewer for military tanks. In the 1920s, phonograph and motion picture pioneer Leon F. Douglass also created special effects and anamorphi widescreen motion picture cameras. However, how this relates to the earlier French invention, and later development, is unclear. Anamorphic widescreen was not used again for cinematography until 1952 when Twentieth Century-Fox bought the rights to the technique to create its CinemaScope widescreen technique. The development of anamorphic widescreen arose due to a desire for wider aspect ratios. The modern anamorphic widescreen format has an aspect ratio of 2.40:1, meaning the picture width is 2.40 times its height, technically it is 2.39:1, but it is known professionally as 2.40:1 or "two-four-oh". Academy format 35 mm film standard non-anamorphic full frame with sound tracks in the image area has an aspect ratio of 1.37:1, which is not as wide or contrapositively, is taller.
There are two main types of anamorphosis: perspective, oblique and mirror, catoptric. Examples of perspectival anamorphosis date to the early Renaissance, 15th century. Examples of mirror anamorphosis were first created in the late Renaissance, 16th century.
With mirror anamorphosis, a conical or cylindrical mirror is placed on the drawing or painting to transform a flat distorted image into a three-dimensional picture that can be viewed from many angles. The deformed image is painted on a plane surface surrounding the mirror. By looking uniquely into the mirror, the image appears undeformed. This process of anamorphosis made it possible to diffuse caricatures, erotic and scatological scenes and scenes of sorcery for a confidential public.
Hans Holbein the Younger is well known for incorporating this type of anamorphic trick. His painting The Ambassadors is the most famous example for anamorphosis, in which a distorted shape lies diagonally across the bottom of the frame.

Another form of anamorphic art is often called Slant Art. Examples are the sidewalk chalk paintings of Kurt Wenner and Julian Beever where the chalk painting, the pavement and the architectural surroundings all become part of an illusion. Art of this style can be produced by taking a photograph of an object or setting at a sharp angle, then putting a grid over the photo, another, elongated grid on the footpath based on a specific perspective, and reproducing exactly the contents of one into the other, one square at a time.

Cinemascope, Panavision,Technirama and other widescreen formats use anamorphosis to poject a wider image from a narrower film frame.

The system of anamrphic projection can be seen quite commonly on text written at a very flat angle on roadways  such as "Bus Lane" or "Children Crossing" — which is easily read by drivers who otherwise would have difficulty reading as the vehicle approaches the text; when the vehicle is nearly above the text, its true abnormally elongated shape can be seen. On some 0.5 liter Sprite bottles in Europe, an extra bar code was present. When the bottle is tilted towards the mouth while drinking, the bar code resolves into writing due to the anamorphic effect.

Humanoid

A humanoid is something that has an appearance resembling a human being. More generally, the term can refer to anything with uniquely human characteristics and/or adaptations, such as possessing opposable appendage (thumbs) or the ability to walk in an upright position.

Humanoid Animation is an approved ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) standard for humanoid modeling and animation defines a specification for defining interchangeable human figures so that those characters can be used across a variety of 3D games and simulation environments.

The Humanoid AnimationStandard was developed in the late '90s and was significantly influenced by the Jack human modeling system and the research of experts in the graphics, ergonomics, simulation & gaming industry.

A humanoid robot or an anthropomorphic robot is a robot with its overall appearance, based on that of the human body, allowing interaction with made-for-human tools or environments. In general humanoid robots have a torso with a head, two arms and two legs, although some forms of humanoid robots may model only part of the body, for example, from the waist up. Some humanoid robots may also have a face, with eyes and a mouth. Androids are humanoid robots built to aesthetically resemble humans.

Humanoid Animation figures are articulated 3D representations that depict animated characters. A single H-Anim figure is called a humanoid. While Humanoid Animation figures are intended to represent human like characters, they are a general concept that is not limited to human beings.

Currently there exist two types of H-Anim figures: Skeletal body geometry describes the body as separate geometric pieces and therefore can lead to artifacts. Skinned body geometry in contrast regards the body as a continuous piece of geometry. Therefore all point and normal vector data sets are defined in one place, in the 'kinCoord and skinNormal fields of the Humanoid Animation for allowing smooth mesh animations. In this tutorial only the latter, more natural looking type is described.
The skin field of the Humanoid Animation node contains the real mesh information, i.e. the Shape nodes, which define appearance and geometry of certain body parts like face or legs. As can be seen in the next code fragment, the Geometry's coord and normal fields only hold references to the Coordinates and Normals already defined in the skinCoord and skinNormal fields of the Humanoid Animation. This way a seemless animation is achieved both for the vertices and the normals without the need to recalculate the latter.

Review

Had to go through a review type situation, the whole class showed of their work, showing what they did in flash with their comic strips and animation, they shared their work and we had to give our opinions on what was good about it and what need to be improved, in my opinion i think my was adiquit

Wednesday 22 February 2012

Here is my final design on my comic book strip, this reachs my orignal design as it is what it is planned as it looks, This comic book strip is based on an idea of a game that i had which the age rating is 18+ so i would say it does meet the age rating, the whole process of this comic book strip was it was done on pencil and paper as a plan then fully drawn on another paper as a final design, once i did that i put it through a scanner so i could put it on photoshop, once on the computer i went through it again using the paint brush tool (on Black), once i had done that i used the bucket tool and filled in the bits that i wanted in the colour i wanted it to be then i put it on my blog and started talking about it. i had no problems doing the task that i was task to do and managed to finish it in time. my final thoughts on this whole experince was reasonably good but I DON'T LIKE THIS EVALUATION STUFF!!!.

Thursday 9 February 2012

Here is my comicbook page that i hand drawn then put through a scanner to go over it in photoshop shop and this so far... its not that good but you know work in progress.

this is a part of a comicbook page that i draw up, 2nd page, on pencil and paper, the idea of this page was that the main character was drop suddenly into some part of the gears of war universe but the universe it self is not right, after the sudden drop he is then called upon through an opening portal with enemies on his hind, continuing on he is told a large amount on infomation on whats going on, whats happened and why he is here, on the last bit is a to be continue moment.

this was first drawn on paper then i transerfered it on to photoshop, this is how far i got onto photoshop the first time i tried out on it, its wasn't entirely easy to get it as detailed as most comics as some of the colours wouldn't entirely fill in.

3D MAX ANIMATION

Here is my animation, it is 21 secs long and what it is about is a tardis that goes through a planetry system while chasing a mystrious green cube. my idea for this animation came to me when i was thinking up ideas for animation that were a bit to ambishous then i came up with the simple and brilliant idea of this.
Creating this animation was pritty simple at first cause for the green cube and tardis were basic cubed shapes were as the tardis needed to be bit more detailed, then i need to place the planets around the areana, that was easy, I basically drawed out one circle shape then i clicked on the shape then hold shift and moved it so the shape would be instantly copied. when that was done i work on design for the objects and background, i did this whole process of getting a layer out for the tardis by putting it on photoshop and then moving onto 3D MAX as some sort of design then I moved that design onto the blue cube, i did the same thing to the planets only i used these pre-designs that were already their as well as altering their size to make them look more different from one an other. I started work on the background, it was basically the same process of the tardis design only when i made the design i drag it out on  the background and were ever i looked on the computer i could see my background everywere. Once i designed everything i started on the animation, the idea of the animation was simple zig zagging through the plantery system and then ending with the tardis flying into the camera, I had problems with the animation because were i wanted the objects to move didn't move there, they ended up going through the planets so i had to break my animation into little bits so the movements of the objects were more procised zig zagging through the planets which in time was successful. To film the way i wanted this with the right angles i used a tool called "camera" so on the screen what ever the camera was looking at i would see, and be filmed. After i did the filming i render it out in to an AVI movie so i could put it into movie maker and add a title sequence, sound and credits.

This is my one point prospective work, from bottom to top Its one point to two point prospective. One point prospective is where the drawing is given the impression of depth like looking down a corrider like my first drawing which happened, the center point and my drawing would have been the door at the end of the corrider. 2 point prospective give it a more increase of detail and depth, the drawing above is a two point prospective drawing of a table with random objects placed. my techniuqe for one point prospective was to draw a an image from merging or coming out of a certain point. My techniuqe for 2 point prospective was to have 2 point  merging towards aq center line like two roads coming to a corner shop

Here my artwork on point prospective work, my first drawing is a one point prospective work on a corrider in my college, one point prospective is were a drawing is merging or coming out of a center point to give it more depth/detail, My other artwork is a two prospective drawing of a table with random objects, two point prospective is two center with drawings murging to a center line, like looking at a corner shop with two roads coming together.
Perspective is the technique used to represent a three-dimensional world on a piece of paper or canvas in a way that looks realistic and accurate, as we see it in nature. Perspective is used to create an illusion of space and depth on a flat surface.
There are three basic types of perspective: one, two, and three-point. They refers to the number of vanishing points used to create the perspective illusion. Two-point perspective is the most commonly used.
vanishing points is a term used in perspective to describe the point on the horizon where parallel lines appear to meet, example of this are railway tracks going into the distance, you know the two tracks are parallel to each other and remain the same distance apart, but the further away they get, the closer they appear to become to each other.
One vanishing point is typically used for roads, railway tracks, hallways, or buildings viewed so that the front is directly facing the viewer. Any objects that are made up of lines either directly parallel with the viewer's line of sight or directly perpendicular (the railroad slats) can be represented with one-point perspective.
Two-point perspective can be used to draw the same objects as one-point perspective, two point perspective islooking at the corner of a house, or looking at two forked roads shrink into the distance, for example. One point represents one set of parallel lines, the other point represents the other. Looking at a house from the corner.

perspective is away of making objects looking 3D, giving it a more realistic look, this is done by using two point perspective.

Three-point perspective is usually used for buildings seen from above or below. In addition to the two vanishing points from before, one for each wall, there is now one for how those walls recede into the ground. This third vanishing point will be below the ground. Looking up at a tall building is another common example of the third vanishing point. This time the third vanishing point is high in space.

Four-point perspective, also called infinite-point perspective, is the curvilinear variant of two-point perspective. As the result when made into an infinite point version i.e. when the amount of vanishing points exceeds the minimum amount required, a four point perspective image becomes a panorama that can go to a 360 degree view and beyond – when going beyond the 360 degree view the artist might depict an "impossible" room as the artist might depict something new when it's supposed to show part of what already exists within those 360 degrees. This elongated frame can be used both horizontally and vertically and when used vertically can be described as an image that depicts both a worm's- and bird's eye view of a scene at the same time.
